An exotic variety of this breed with a spectacularly curled tail is inherited from the wolf. An animal with a strong body and powerful bones has a short, very elegant topline. The coat is short and harsh. He was bred to guard the US borders from Japanese hawks, but despite this, his names have become more popular due to his original travels around the country. According to an inaccurate legend, his ancestors were the waves of the ocean, or burning sticks. Verne is named after the English officer in command of the ship. His ancestors traveled a long distance along the coast of Canada before they landed on the land of America. The story of Verne began in the mid-nineteenth century, when Dick Sand brought back a litter of greyhounds that had been brought to America from northern Mexico. Ultimately, both Vern and Jack were recognized as purebred country dogs. This incident was the beginning of the struggle for the purity of the breed, and only by 1932 the dogs that were recognized with the pedigrees of these two dogs were more than enough.
